| • THE PIONEERS’ ROUTE |
A journey to see a world that still exists down here!
| Together with local bilingual guides, we will embark on this trip to a world that still exists down here in these latitudes.
The transportation we will use will be ox-driven wagons, horses, and boats. During the delicious country barbecues we will enjoy the hospitality of the southern colonists while savouring delicious Patagonian lamb. The aroma of freshly baked bread, a merry fire crackling in the kitchen hearth, and the time-honoured ceremony of mate-drinking will take us back to the olden times, to its odors and tastes.
| We want to share this old-fashioned cuisine with you. We will visit museums that tell us of the pioneers and of bandits as well. Protected by the proximity of the frontier, famed outlaws inhabited this area at the beginning of the 20th Century.
And lastly, we will come to the end of this historic route when we board the Old Patagonian Express, one of the last original narrow-gauge trains in the world. |
